The District Professional Development Committee supports and coordinates member-initiated professional development activities. Working in alignment with the collective agreement and established operational procedures, the Committee helps ensure that professional learning opportunities reflect the needs and interests of teachers.
Who Serves on the Committee
The District Professional Development Committee includes:
- One representative from each school
- One representative from each Local Specialist Association
- One representative from the school administrators
- One school trustee
- One representative of the Superintendent of Schools
- The past Professional Development Chair
- The President of the ADTU
- One representative from the TTOC Association
The Committee is chaired by an ADTU representative. Each school elects a Professional Development Representative to serve as a liaison between the school and the District Committee.
